An investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Money Laundering Investigative Team (MLIT) has led to the seizure of more than $56 million dollars in cryptocurrency — the largest crypto seizure in Canadian history. The investigation found that the business involved failed to register with FINTRAC as a money services business. The cryptocurrency exchange platform has been dismantled by Canadian law enforcement.
