The Executive Board of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) has appointed Juan-Manuel Vega Serrano as the Vice-Chair of the Authority.

Juan-Manuel Vega Serrano brings over three decades of experience in public service, with a career dedicated to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT). A senior member of Spain’s higher civil service since 1992, Mr. Vega Serrano has held several prominent roles in shaping AML/CFT policy both nationally and internationally.

His previous positions include serving as AML/CFT regulator at the Spanish Treasury, Head of Spain’s AML/CFT Supervisory Authority and Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), and President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

As Vice-Chair, Mr. Vega Serrano will support AMLA’s mission to strengthen the EU’s AML/CFT framework.

We were honored to welcome Minister for Finance of Ireland, Paschal Donohoe, to our offices at AMLA this week.

AMLA Executive Board Begins Work in Frankfurt

On Monday, the Executive Board of the European Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) officially commenced its duties at the Authority’s office in the MesseTurm in Frankfurt am Main.
